Description
Calcadia R8T25 perforated sheet metal Calcadia visual discretion and robustness. It features round holes with a diameter of 8 mm, arranged in a staggered T pattern with a regular pitch of 25 mm. Classified according to the Rv8-25 standard, this geometry provides 10% transparency. This low level of transparency filters the view, limits glare, and effectively protects spaces, while allowing a measured passage of air and light.
The staggered pattern distributes the openings isotropically, generating soft, non-directional shadows. From a distance, the R8T25 Calcadia perforation Calcadia as an almost solid, uniform, and soothing surface; up close, the 8 mm disc creates a discreet, controlled dotted pattern without any graphic harshness. This openwork pattern is suitable when a sober and protective technical style is required: secondary facades with low transparency, equipment covers and casings, semi-opaque fences, privacy screens, and cladding for sensitive premises.
With a pitch T = 25 mm and a diameter D = 8 mm, the "in-line" ligature is 17 mm (T – D). In a triangular pattern, the vertical spacing between rows is ~21.7 mm (√3/2·T), with metal ligatures that are always generous. The result for perforated sheet metal: excellent mechanical strength at equal thickness, far superior to more open patterns. In 1.5 mm steel, unframed panels can reach significant unit sizes while maintaining good flatness; beyond approximately 1.5 to 1.8 m² (depending on exposure and supports), peripheral framing, stiffening folds, or secondary framing are recommended, especially outdoors (urban vandalism). For large spans, aim for 2 mm galvanized steel to secure the structure.
The low percentage of empty space limits direct views and exposure to noise/wind, while reducing the risk of fingers or small objects (Ø 8 mm) getting caught.
The strong metal binding allows for easy cutting, folding, and bending with little deformation. Anticipate the direction of the grid to obtain clean edges and distribute stress; bring the support points closer together on the exposed facade; use U/Z profiles or peripheral frames to stabilize large panels. With a double skin (sheet metal + rear panel), you get a very uniform visual appearance and almost complete coverage, while maintaining slight ventilation.
Made of 1.5 mm thick galvanized steel 1.5 mm thick, Calcadia R8T25 perforated sheet metal generally costs between €52 and €78/m² for a 100 m² order, depending on the thickness, finish, layout, folds/stiffeners, and installation constraints. The low percentage of empty space increases the weight per m², which is important to keep in mind during installation. Uses
Calcadia R8T25 perforated sheet metal Calcadia recognizable by its dense, regular pattern, offering reduced transparency with 10% open area. This staggered round perforation, with fine 8 mm holes, creates a semi-opaque, protective surface, ideal for applications where safety, concealment, and robustness take precedence over visibility. It is ideal for technical building envelopes, sensitive premises, maintenance areas, and substructures.
Calcadia perforated sheet metal Calcadia as a visual and physical shield. It limits visibility, blocks projections, and offers high resistance thanks to the significant amount of residual metal. Its low aperture ensures excellent rigidity and remarkable stability over large spans. In public, industrial, or logistics architecture, it becomes a durable, understated, and controlled protective material. However, the discreet round pattern softens the perception: the surface never appears harsh, but full and reassuring.
As a facade cladding, Rv8-25 acts as a continuous metal skin. Light penetrates only in fragments, producing a subdued, almost textured effect. Shadows take on depth and subtly reveal the geometry of the perforations. This dense material is particularly suitable for base architecture, secure fencing, technical access areas, or environments where discretion is a sought-after value.
Its low transparency also provides an effective thermal and visual barrier: direct radiation is attenuated, while minimal ventilation remains to prevent air stagnation behind the sheet metal. When used vertically, Calcadia perforated sheet metal Calcadia as much as it unifies. When installed horizontally, it acts as a solid filter, capable of withstanding mechanical stress and repeated weathering. Team advice
