Description
R3T5 – OBIA perforated sheet metal OBIA thanks to its 3 mm diameter round holes arranged in a staggered pattern at 60 degrees with a pitch of 5 mm, creating a fine, regular Rv 3-5 type grid. This pattern has 32% transparency, offering a subtle balance between air permeability, light diffusion, and visual protection.
While R3T5 perforated sheet metal is known for its discreet appearance in its initial perforation range, fine perforation represents a real industrial challenge, particularly due to the small size of the holes. Creating a perfectly circular hole measuring just 3 mm requires extreme precision in punching, as well as rigorous quality control to ensure uniformity and the absence of burrs.
But the industrial complexity does not stop there: the finishing stage, particularly powder coating, presents a second technical challenge. Painting a sheet with 3 mm diameter holes requires a high level of control over the powder coating process, otherwise the perforations will become clogged, which would compromise the openwork function of the product. This requires fine calibration to prevent clogging.
Visually, R3T5 – OBIA perforated sheet metal OBIA the metal surface a fine, structured grain, used for applications where a mesh that is virtually invisible from both near and far is desired.
The price of R3T5 perforated sheet metal in 1.5 mm thick galvanized steel ranges from €60/m² to €80/m² for 100 m², depending on the layout of the metal cladding project.
For a more economical solution, consider standard R5T8 perforated sheet metal.

But the industrial complexity does not stop there: the finishing stage, particularly powder coating, presents a second technical challenge. Painting a sheet with 3 mm diameter holes requires a high level of expertise in the powder coating process, otherwise the perforations could become blocked, which would compromise the openwork function of the product. This requires fine calibration to prevent clogging.
