Description

The R19T22 – Fenti perforated sheet Fenti the boundaries of metallic transparency. Composed of generous 19 mm round holes, spaced 22 mm center to center, arranged in a 60° staggered pattern, it forms a geometric perforated Rv19-22 pattern with a spectacular 68% open area. This mashrabiya is impressive both for its apparent visual lightness and the power of its minimalist geometry. The R19T22 perforation transforms the steel sheet into an ultra-openwork metal veil that acts as an XXL light filter. Seen from a distance, the plate seems to disappear into the environment, absorbed by the air and light. The large diameter of the perforations creates a fluid kinetic effect, with light passing through the material and forming sharp, dynamic shadows projected onto the floor or walls. Up close, the material appears as a giant, airy, contemporary grid. The resulting aesthetic evokes an industrial mashrabiya, open to the extreme, perfectly suited to projects that want to make an impression: artistic facades, airy public shelters, event architecture cladding, decorative filter fences, or high-flow ventilation grilles. The downside of this open aesthetic is the mechanical fragility of the plate: only 3 mm of material between each hole, which makes the sheet structurally vulnerable to bending, buckling, or direct impacts. This pattern requires high-precision punching, carried out on numerically controlled presses, with very precise calibration to avoid deformation. Without a rigid supporting frame, the use of R19T22 sheet metal is not recommended, except in small formats or protected applications. Panels larger than 1.5 m² must be reinforced with folds or integrated into a metal structure (frame or wooden frame). This perforated sheet metal with a void ratio of more than 50% is not recommended in the following contexts: - Areas susceptible to regular mechanical impact or vandalism, - High-traffic public spaces: schools, sports facilities, parks, etc. The price of R19T22 – Fenti perforated sheet metal, made of 1.5 mm thick galvanized steel, varies between €65 and €85/m² for an order of 100 m², depending on the finish options (raw, powder coated) and the format of the sheets, which can result in loss of raw material. For projects requiring greater strength, we recommend the R15T20 or R25T30 models, which also offer a large visual opening with reinforced mechanical strength.

Uses

In contemporary public spaces, such as museums, reception halls, designer hotels, and modern libraries, perforated decor is used to create ultra-lightweight openwork partitions. In interior design or scenography, it can be used: - as a semi-opaque metal screen in transition areas, - as a decorative backlit grille to enhance a luminous or artistic atmosphere. Used as a facade sunshade, Rv19-22 perforated sheet metal ensures very high light permeability. It slightly filters direct light while creating slightly marked shadow effects. The round hole pattern is particularly suitable for use as a metal veil on secondary structures, in cut panels, mounted on steel or aluminum frames. However, its low residual material (3 mm between each hole) requires a rigid supporting structure. It is strongly recommended not to use this sheet metal flat without reinforcement. The panels must be limited in width (600 to 800 mm) and always framed, otherwise they may be mechanically deformed by wind or dynamic forces. R19T22 perforated sheet metal is particularly effective for concealing and ventilating technical equipment such as: - air conditioning units, - outdoor technical cabinets, - ventilated enclosures or transformers, - bicycle shelters or electrical terminals. It allows for significant natural convection, while visually protecting these elements thanks to its perforated pattern. Despite its attractive appearance, R19T22 perforated sheet metal is not recommended for: - security fences in dense urban areas (risk of buckling or deformation), - freestanding guardrails unless rigorously framed with metal folds or stiffeners.
