Description

Fata perforated sheet metal Fata R35T50 has an energetic and highly breathable appearance: large Ø 35 mm discs arranged in a staggered pattern with a regular pitch of 50 mm. Referenced as Rv35-50, this perforated geometry offers approximately 44% transparency (≈ 962 mm² of opening for ≈ 2,165 mm² of mesh), ideal when the objective is to maximize air flow and light diffusion while visually lightening technical volumes. The staggered pattern distributes the openings isotropically: shadows are softer and less directional than with a linear pattern, and the appearance from a distance is more uniform. The Ø 35 mm diameter creates a bold graphic language that is visible from a great distance, suitable for breathable facades, technical machine room screens, HVAC unit covers, parking lot protection, secondary cladding, and enclosure boxes where ventilation is a priority. In urban environments, Fata R35T50 perforated sheet metal is ideal for reducing the visual impact of massive structures (air conditioning units, substations, technical rooms), with the option of a double skin to reduce glare and direct views without sacrificing overall ventilation. With T = 50 mm and D = 35 mm, the "in-line" ligature is 15 mm (T–D). In a triangular grid, the spacing between rows is ≈ 43.3 mm (√3/2·T), giving a minimum oblique ligature of ≈ 8.3 mm (43.3–35). This relatively small amount of metal requires rigorous dimensioning: • For 1.5 mm steel, limit the size of unframed panels (modest unit sizes); • Opt for a welded/bolted peripheral frame and/or stiffening folds; • In exposed areas (wind, impact, vibrations) or for large spans, aim for a thickness of 2 mm to 3 mm. • Reduce the spacing between fasteners and increase the number of support points. The triangular grid distributes stress evenly in both axes; with the right framework, the skin remains reliable despite the large opening. The Ø 35 mm openings allow for significant airflow but also allow large objects to pass through. For guardrails and areas accessible to the public, check compliance (passability, stresses, heights, fastening center distances); if necessary, provide a counter-skin (net, finer mesh, tight perforated sheet metal) on the inside. The offset double skin reduces perceived transparency and glare while maintaining good ventilation. Anticipate the direction of the weave for clean cuts and folds (avoid starting on thin ligatures). On facades, use U/Z profiles or frames to stabilize the panels; bring the anchor points closer together in windy areas. In a perforated double skin configuration (Fata + rear veil/rain screen or acoustic veil), the background is concealed, the finish is homogenized, and acoustic comfort can be improved. Made of 1.5 mm thick galvanized steel 1.5 mm thick Fata steel, Fata Rv35-50 generally costs between €60 and €90/m² for an order of around 100 m², depending on the thickness, finish, layout, presence of frames/stiffeners, and installation constraints. Large openings reduce the perforated mass but require a suitable frame and thicknesses.

Uses

R35T50 – Fata perforated sheet metal Fata recognizable by the size of its pattern and its clarity. Perforated with 35 mm round holes arranged in a staggered pattern and with an open area of nearly 44%, it creates a surface that is both powerful and transparent. This large, breathable mesh promotes air and light circulation while maintaining a robust mechanical structure. It is naturally suited to architectural applications where the sheet metal becomes an element of expression: facades of public buildings, ventilated parking structures, monumental railings, decorative fences. On facades, Rv35-50 creates spectacular visual effects: depending on the viewing angle and distance, it transforms into steel lace or metal mesh. In contemporary projects, it enhances the monumentality of the metal while allowing the volumes to breathe. In outdoor use, its medium transparency and staggered pattern ensure effective natural ventilation while reducing wind pressure effects. The amount of residual metal guarantees sufficient rigidity for large self-supporting panels. Perfo R35T50 is suitable for large-scale applications: ventilation cladding, sun screens, fencing for sports or cultural complexes, openwork structures for forecourts and ventilated facades. When used in guardrails, Perfo R35T50 sheet metal plays on the perception of space: it does not hide, but rather punctuates the space. The eye can see through it, and the pattern accompanies the movement. The generous roundness of the perforations gives an impression of softness and openness, even in industrial or technical contexts. The staggered pattern, with its fluid geometry, softens the alignment and reinforces the natural reading of volumes. The R35T50 – Fata perforated pattern Fata understood as a form of writing with light. The enlarged circle becomes a breathing module.
