Description

Dobac R35T40 perforated sheet metal Dobac a very open and bright aesthetic: perforated circles with a diameter of 35 mm arranged in a staggered pattern with a regular pitch of 40 mm. Referenced by the nomenclature Rv35-40, this perforated geometry offers nearly 70% transparency, ideal when the priority is high air flow, generous light diffusion, and visual lightening of technical envelopes. 70% transparency is the maximum void in perforated sheet metal for architectural use. The staggered pattern distributes the openings isotropically: the shadows are moiré, soft, and not very directional; from a distance, the skin appears as a homogeneous and highly breathable veil, a discreet metal mesh. The Ø 35 mm diameter hole creates a powerful graphic language depending on the color applied, visible from a distance or evanescent, appreciated for breathable facades, machine room screens, HVAC unit covers, parking lot screens, and secondary cladding where ventilation and transparency are paramount. In urban environments, 70% perforation R35T40 should be avoided. Perforated metal with T = 40 mm and D = 35 mm, the residual ligature is approximately 5 mm in all directions (the triangular grid having a center-to-center distance T for the closest neighbors). This material reserve is small and requires very rigorous dimensioning: • for 2 mm steel, limit the size of unframed panels (modest unit sizes); • favor a welded/bolted peripheral frame and/or stiffening folds; • in exposed areas (wind, impact, vibrations) or for large spans, aim for a thickness of 3 mm; • reduce the spacing between fixings and increase the number of support points on the structure. When correctly framed, the perforated T-shaped grid distributes stress evenly in both axes and provides reliable support despite the very high opening. The Ø 35 mm openings ensure exceptional air flow. For guardrails and areas accessible to the public, check compliance (passability, forces, heights, center distances); if necessary, provide a counter-skin (net, finer mesh, or tightly perforated sheet metal) on the protected side. The offset double skin reduces perceived transparency and glare while maintaining very good air/light exchange. Made of 2 mm thick galvanized steel, the price of R35T40 perforated sheet metal is generally between €60 and €100/m² for an order of around 100 m², depending on the thickness, finish, layout, presence of frames/stiffeners, and installation constraints. Reminder: very large openings reduce the perforated mass, making the metal mesh very light and requiring a substantial frame and appropriate thicknesses, which will be visible through the perforated sheet metal.

Uses

R35T40 perforated sheet metal – Dobac characterized by its exceptional openness and the purity of its circular pattern. With large 35 mm holes arranged in a staggered pattern and a transparency of nearly 70%, it offers maximum air and light passage. It is naturally suited to architectural projects where ventilation, visual lightness, and brightness are crucial: ventilated parking garage enclosures, technical cladding, and sun protection for windows facing northeast or northwest. The round perforated sheet metal with maximum transparency produces a fluid, lively, tension-free appearance. From a distance, the metal disappears completely, revealing only a graphic pattern suspended in space. In low-angle light, the perforations become flashes, forming a dynamic pattern that accompanies the volumes. In backlighting, the perforated sheet metal disappears completely, giving way to air and view. This visual reversibility makes Rv35-40 an ideal material for open projects, where the boundary between interior and exterior is intended to be permeable. With the highest void ratio in the perforated sheet metal field, it offers maximum natural ventilation: it regulates air flow, limits heat effects, and promotes heat exchange. Its apparent lightness excludes autonomous resistance: the solid metal areas between the holes form an unstable mesh, which alone does not guarantee good wind resistance. Regular metal reinforcements are required, and the strength of the sheet metal will be difficult to justify in strong winds. Avoid using it for balcony railings.
