Description

Mars C20U25 perforated sheet metal makes a bold statement: a tightly packed square grid that is extremely breathable, with a clean, bright graphic finish. It consists of 20 mm square holes arranged in orthogonal alignment at regular 25 mm intervals. Referenced Qg20-25, this pattern has a high transparency rate of approximately 64%, the highest transparency available in perforated sheet metal, ideal when the priority is ventilation of technical rooms, light diffusion, and visual lightness. The linear pattern gives the perforated sheet a purely geometric, almost pixelated look, which is very effective for adding rhythm to geometric building facades, creating clearly defined light filters, or visually lightening closed spaces. The 20 mm square format, repeated at short intervals, creates a dense metal mesh that catches the eye from both near and far. Unlike round or staggered perforations, the square in a straight pattern structures the space into a regular grid and produces sharp, orthogonal, almost typographic shadows. This bold graphic effect emphasizes projects with a sober and contemporary language: cladding for technical enclosures, ventilation grilles, equipment cladding boxes, interior protections, secondary cladding, industrial screens, ceilings, and protected light fixtures. With a center-to-center distance of 25 mm for a 20 mm opening, the residual material between two perforations is only 5 mm. This characteristic gives the sheet metal a reduced mass and a high air/light exchange capacity, but requires increased vigilance in terms of mechanical strength. In modest sizes, Mars C20U25 sheet metal maintains adequate flatness if the thickness is appropriate; beyond that, a peripheral frame, stiffening folds, or an added framework are strongly recommended, especially outdoors or in exposed areas (wind, impact, vibrations). As a guide, for unframed panels made of 1.5 mm thick steel, limited unit areas (approximately 0.5 to 0.8 m²) are preferable in order to maintain rigidity and durability. We strongly recommend that you carry out mechanical tests on a prototype part to assess its strength. The standard C20U25 pattern is primarily intended for applications requiring transparency and ventilation: ventilation screens for technical rooms, covers for air conditioners and cooling units, ventilated cladding for garbage rooms (indoors), technical false ceilings, equipment cages and guards, and filter partitions in industrial and commercial buildings. For contexts requiring high visual privacy, burglar resistance, or surfaces without openings that are rough to the touch, patterns with smaller openings, wider center distances, or a lower percentage of open space are preferred. In terms of finishes, Z275 galvanized steel is suitable for most technical uses; a polyester powder coating will provide additional protection and aesthetic appeal. Aluminum offers significant weight savings on large panels, provided that the edges are reinforced. Austenitic stainless steel (AISI 304/316) is recommended for humid, saline, or food environments. Indicative budget: in 1.5 mm thick galvanized steel, Mars C20U25 perforated sheet metal generally costs between €55 and €85/m² for an order of around 100 m², depending on the thickness, finish, layout, and installation constraints. This very open pattern optimizes ventilation and light diffusion, provided that the design is accompanied by consistent mechanical dimensions (thickness, folds, frames).

Uses

C20U25 – Mars perforated sheet metal Mars for its high visual openness and apparent lightness, ideal for applications where transparency is paramount without sacrificing a clear structure. With an aligned grid of 20 mm squares and a void ratio of over 60%, it is ideal for projects requiring visibility, ventilation, and minimal graphic presence. As a lightweight facade, it is perfectly suited to cultural facilities, naturally ventilated parking lots, outdoor walkways, privacy screens on terraces, and decorative fences where the connection between indoors and outdoors needs to be preserved. Its low mass and very open perforation allow for low wind impact in highly exposed areas, while preserving a clear geometric layout. The sheet metal becomes an air filter that allows the eye to wander, creating clear lines and emphasizing volumes without weighing them down. As a fence, the C20U25 perforation offers an almost transparent appearance: it structures the space without forming a solid wall. It meets safety requirements when combined with a metal thickness of 2 mm or 3 mm if necessary, while providing a feeling of lightness that is particularly appreciated in stairwells, walkways, and communal balconies. The linear pattern creates a subtle, discreet rhythm, promoting a continuous architectural style, particularly in open residential developments, public facilities, or contemporary architecture with high natural light requirements. C20U25 perforated sheet metal reveals silhouettes, opens up views, and provides unrestricted ventilation. It offers indirect values. It sketches the outline of a volume, softens boundaries, and reveals backgrounds. The regular square pattern establishes a visual cadence, creating an identity without excess thickness.
